Great reporting by Tom Stabile and the team at FundFire Alts on women in leadership roles at alternative investment firms. This topic is so important but does not get the same attention that it receives at most traditional investment shops. The “producing managers” at most partnership-style organizational structures that dominate the venture, private equity, and hedge fund world do not allow for sufficient time on new initiatives and follow through on well-intentioned programs that are prevalent at most firms. There is widespread recognition of the financial and strategic competitive advantage of a diverse decision-making team that senses inclusion as a key part of the culture, but all too frequently, there are insufficient resources committed to turn these intentions into more rapid and sustainable results. We applaud the significant efforts of the industry over the last decade and are working with all of our clients in this segment to augment these efforts with more effective recruiting.
