The evolution of the business management of hedge funds and private equity firms is steady and predictable. We have worked on COO, CFO, Treasurer, CHRO, and General Counsel searches in the last couple of years exactly like this example. The evolution usually occurs as firms grow to 200-500 full-time staff, more than 2 offices, more than two major product lines, or multiple client-type channels with over 1,000 active accounts. One of the major drivers of firms starting this upgrading process is administrative burdens impending on the lifestyle of a firm’s founders and/or managing partners.

Great reporting by Chad Bray and the team at the Financial Times/FundFire. Keep up the good work.
