The recent US Supreme Court rulings, which take us backward in the journey toward equal rights, protection, and justice for all, are cause for consternation and even alarm. However, we must use these setbacks to galvanize our efforts and seek out innovative paths to justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Ford Foundation President Darrell Walker‘s guest essay in the New York Times is an eloquent call to action:

“We can feel frustration and pain about the Supreme Court’s affirmative action decision, but we cannot give up or give in. In this new era of deconstruction, we must summon fortitude, resilience, and vigilance, with reverence for those who came before and resolve for those who follow.”
