The first day of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives Vision conference was exciting. It was great to see so many friends and clients all in one place. The highlight of the day was Doug Krupa‘s Panel “The Mega Allocator Playbook” where he hosted our friend and successful candidate Kane Brenan, CEO of The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF), genius investor Jonathan Glidden of Delta, and Andrew McDougall, recent transplant across the pond to Boston as CIO of Marsh.

Day two of IPA Vision 2026 was very productive, with multiple visits with former and current clients among the 550 attendees. The highlight of the day was the panel on “Digital Architecture, Tokenization and Operational Evolution – Modernizing private market infrastructure to eliminate friction and scale transaction velocity.” The groundbreaking work of DTCC, outlined by former IPA Board member Justin Schwartz as they go live with 24×5 tokenized trading in October of this year, will be looked back on as one of the more important inflection points in the adoption of distributed general ledger systems in the world of finance. It was great to have a firsthand look into the issues this evolution is creating.

Nickolaus Darsch, EVP & Chief Commercial Officer of Ultimus, and I had a great conversation on the impact of many of the technology innovations around AI and tokenization dramatically impacting the delivery of more sophisticated wealth solutions. Congratulations to Nick on being named to the IPA Board after having been nominated as an IPA Rising Star Council Member earlier.

Many thanks to Anya Coverman and her entire team for hosting such a well-organized and excellently attended event with two days of super productive learning and networking in Atlanta.
