¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana!
We want to join our clients and friends in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month, honoring all Americans, especially our colleagues, whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
Despite the current political climate which borders on anarchy with masked paramilitary forces detaining people legally at work in the United States through racial profiling, we remain fully supportive of a more diverse workforce. This diversity has become an economic imperative for our clients because more diverse teams make better decisions, resulting in higher quality growth and increased profits. Those that fail to keep up will find themselves significantly competitively disadvantaged in the coming years.
Take a moment to reflect on the number of friends and colleagues that you have with hispanic origins, and reach out to them to talk about the challenging circumstances of the current political environment. Listening carefully will not solve today’s problems, but it will build lasting partnerships for the future, regardless of the adversity we might face as a country.
We are a nation of immigrants founded on the concept of tolerance and equality of opportunity. Walking back these founding principles that are solidly stated in the US’s history of the rule of law will lead to economic downturn and eventually be corrected.
Since 1968 Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana has been an important part of our business and personal culture, and we hope you will join us in continuing this tradition.
Such a shame that the current administration blocked the Smithsonian Museum’s great web site for the Museum of the American Latino https://latino.si.edu
