Attending the MIT Media Labs “Imagination in Action” Agentic AI Conference in Cambridge for two days has become a real differentiator in my understanding of how important technology skills and tools are for the C-Suite leadership of the asset & wealth management business. The complexity of the tools and their speed to market are going to significantly challenge every executive beyond what I envisioned in my earlier commentary. Spinning up an OpenClaw agent on the Mariner cloud from my laptop for a simple task in a several-hour afternoon workshop at Akami Technologies headquarters provided an insight into both the advantages of using AI agents, but also the complexity and risks associated with them.
For all my friends in leadership roles, I urge you to allocate enough time to raise your game and understanding, upskill your ability to be a smarter user of these tools. All of my clients are now raising the bar on the technology skills and track record they seek in any job.
