The Toigo Foundation is one of the more impactful philanthropic efforts I have participated in during the course of my career. They are serving a wider cohort as the effort grows with considerable corporate support over the last several years. However, I make my judgement on impact here as a result of the extended success as one watches the careers of the Toigo Fellows (alumni) as their careers progress over decades. The magic sauce for this tremendous success is the networking effect of the peer and sponsor support that has grown in this community.
In this light, I would like to expand my efforts with the Foundation to include an offer of time for career advice for fellows considering or growing within the asset & wealth management industry. This is an informal donation-in-kind initiative, and my door is always open for a few minutes by phone to share insights on the industry, career strategy tips, and hopefully some useful contacts. It is equally open to all fellows, from recent college graduates to CEOs.
The inspiration for this offer came from the wonderful evening I spent in Los Angeles recently at the Defining Moments, Celebrating 35 Years Gala in November. I visited with over 50 friends and clients, all celebrating the past and future of this great organization. It was a fantastic evening of inspiration and entertainment thanks to the hard work of Nancy Sims, Sue Toigo, and the staff of the Foundation. Special thanks go out to the incoming CEO Jose Minaya and Advisory Board Chair Judy Chambers, who take considerable time out from their busy and successful careers to provide strategic guidance and leadership inspiration to all of us
