Celebrating our Hispanic colleagues’ heritage is something I look forward to every year. Despite the dark times we face socially with populism and the current Washington administration promoting aggressively racist policies, we have the privilege of supporting these colleagues through self-expression, even if more public demonstrations have become hazardous.
In the coming weeks, make a point to speak with your Hispanic friends and colleagues to appreciate the things that make their heritage and journey in America special, and despite the current challenges, celebrate with them their successes (often over several generations) that have been key to the success of our country and the American Dream.
Make a point to speak out against injustice wherever your voice counts. The rule of law, transparency of markets ,and freedom of thought and action are the pillars of our successful democracy.
